Here at Vermont Law School, we want to make sure students have access to all of the resources they will need to be successful and live comfortably while completing their degree with us. We also want to ensure students are not incurring more student loan debt than necessary.

Here is an example of our 'thrifty' budget that would allow a student some cost of living funds to utilize while enrolled in our online program. Most of our students find they only need to borrow loans to help offset the cost of tuition/fees which are billed by term at $1,345 per credit hour*.

Online Thrifty Budget Per
(12 months)
Total Living Expenses $1,450 $18,900

While students are allowed to borrow up to $28,000 towards cost of living expenses annually, our online students borrow an average of just $2,300 towards cost of living expenses each year**. Our full online student expense budget for 2016/2017 can be found here.

*Students are charged a $250 distance learning fee each semester that can be added into the cost of attendance, as well as a one-time non-refundable admin fee of $200 that can be added as well.

**based on 2015/2016 borrower data; excludes data for students who borrowed no cost of living funds for the 15/16 academic year.
